Camp Restoration began as a dream over 19 years ago in the heart of Sophia Estrella, Executive Director. This program was created in direct response to the growing number of children that are lacking a sense of hope, direction, purpose, and resiliency regardless of their background. The dream was to have a camp that would take children out of the city and provide a positive, fun, safe and exciting environment where they feel free to explore their gifts and experience new things. In addition, a place that would leave an impression they would never forget as they travel through their journey in life.
She believes that ALL children have a calling and are in this world to fulfill a God given destiny. Camp Restoration assists children as young as age four to identify their gifts and talents through the activities they choose that will be used to fulfill that calling. In addition, children are taught to establish a relationship with the living God through prayer and biblical teaching.
Camp Restoration became a reality the summer of 2012 with the help of Life Church and funding from a generous donor. The campus sits on 96 acres of beautiful land in Pocono Pines, PA. It is surrounded with the beauty of nature and also consists of a new playground, basketball courts, baseball field, pavilion, and indoor facilities. Camp Restoration also partners with Streamside Camp & Conference Center to provide our campers a delicious and nutritious breakfast and lunch, as well as, the opportunity to participate in activities such as archery, swimming, canoeing and fishing.
Camp Restoration expands into the school year through Elevation Community Center (ECC) in order for children to have a classroom without walls experience to build their skills in Reading, Math, Science and Social Studies. They are also able to strengthen their gifts and identify their passions through this program. ECC also partners with local schools through the 21st Century Grant to provide After school programming that meets STEM requirements.
Children who attend Camp Restoration or ECC will not be disappointed!
